Radix: Radical Root Explorations

QGallery Berlin presented the exhibition Radix: Radical Root Explorations in Berlin and Baku. This exhibition provided an unprecedented exploration of the concept of root architecture in a changing climate and technological era, examining its influence on our sense of rootedness and belonging. The works of Elnara Nasirli, a contemporary artist from Azerbaijan, and Elfi Greb, a Berlin-based artist-photographer from Germany, offered unique perspectives on these themes. The exhibition aimed to immerse viewers in a tactile experience, providing a brief respite from the increasingly virtual world. Through mixed media art and photography, it raised questions about our present and future neural design within the context of neuroplasticity, exploring how we interact with our environment and community. Key themes explored by the concept of root architecture included the impact of climate change on soils, the evolution of identity root architecture, and the connection between plant root growth and neuroplasticity.
